Late in the second show of a two-night stand at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, June 5, Coldplay was joined by Bruce Springsteen for acoustic versions of Springsteen’s “Working on a Dream” and “Dancing in the Dark,” on a small stage.
The former featured all of Coldplay but the latter was a duet version featuring only Springsteen and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who played piano. One both songs, Springsteen and Martin shared lead vocals.
“Hello, New Jersey,” said Springsteen before “Working on a Dream.” “Well, like Chris said, he had this song tattooed on his arm for a while, so I guess I’ve got to sing it.”
“Thank you, Bruce,” Martin said as Springsteen left the stage. “Thank you for everything.”
You can watch a video of the performance below.
At the first of Coldplay’s two MetLife Stadium shows, June 4, the band was joined by Australian pop star Kylie Minogue for a cover of her hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” You can watch a performance of that here.
