Stephen Colbert will host a tribute to actor Daniel Craig, Oct. 28 at NJPAC in Newark, as part of this year’s Montclair Film Festival. According to a press release, “The pair will sit down for an unforgettable evening of conversation celebrating Mr. Craig’s extraordinary career as one of the cinema’s most distinguished actors.”
Tickets go on sale Sept. 17 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales starting Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. Visit Ticketmaster.com.
Craig stars in “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” which will screen at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, Oct. 21, as the opening night film of the Montclair Film Festival. Tickets to the screening go on sale Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. for Montclair Film members and Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. for the general public. Visit montclairfilm.org.
These are the first two events to be announced for the festival, takes place from Oct. 21 to Oct. 30. The full program will be announced on Sept. 30.
“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” which will be available on Netflix starting on Dec. 23, is a sequel to the 2019 film “Knives Out,” which stars Craig as detective Benoit Blanc.
Colbert is a member of the festival’s advisory board and his wife, Evelyn, is the president of its board of trustees.
This NJPAC event marks the first time a Montclair Film Festival event has been held there, though Colbert has interviewed people such as Meryl Streep, Jimmy Fallon and John Oliver there, as benefits for the fest.
