It will be a dream come true for Stevie Wonder fans when the legendary musician plays songs from his landmark 1976 double album “Songs in the Key of Life” at the Prudential Center in Newark, April 14. The show is part of a newly announced 2015 leg for his “Songs” tour, which began with 11 concerts in November and December.
Tickets, priced at $49.50 and $165, go on sale Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com, with a presale Feb. 10 at 10 a.m (visit citiprivatepass.com).
There will also be a show April 12 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Songs from the album include “I Wish” and “Sir Duke” — both No. 1 hits – as well as “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Love’s in Need of Love Today,” “Pastime Paradise,” “Summer Soft,” “As” and “Ngiculela – Es Una Historia – I Am Singing.”
Last year’s shows earned enthusiastic reviews. Writing on RollingStone.com, Christopher R. Weingarten raved about the Madison Square Garden tour opener: “Fitting an album that attempted to capture the nuance of existence, the show is possibly 2014’s greatest testament to the limitless potential of American music itself.”
