Suzanne Vega will present an encore of her livestream concert from New York’s iconic Blue Note Jazz Club, celebrating the release of her powerful album An Evening of New York Songs and Stories, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. EST.
The album was released in September. Click here for an extensive NJArts.net interview, posted in October, about the album, the livestream concert’s original broadcast, and Vega’s entire career.
The original livestream was stunning and now you have another chance to catch a glimpse of Vega’s captivating performance and hear her songs’ emotional resonance. She is joined onstage by her longtime guitarist Gerry Leonard plus keyboardist Jason Hart and bassist Jeff Allen, and her haunting images and satisfying tunes affirm her status as one of the greatest American songwriters of her generation.
She performed “Tom’s Diner,” “Luka,” “Marlene on the Wall” and deep cuts from her catalog, including “Ludlow Street,” “Frank and Ava” and “New York Is My Destination.”
The stream will be available on demand for 72 hours after the show airs.
