Taylor Swift has been ubiquitous since the release of her new album, 1989, last Monday, and she’s starting off this week making major news again, announcing a world tour that will bring her to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, July 11.
Swift, who also performed at the stadium last year, will be supported by Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes. Tickets go on sale Nov. 14 at 9 a.m., though there will be a presale for American Express card members and members of TaylorSwift.com at 10 a.m. Nov. 7.
The tour will begin May 20 at the CenturyLink Canter in Bossier City, La., and end on Halloween at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, and also include shows in Canada and Europe. Other East Coast dates will include Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, June 13, Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., July 13, and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., July 24-25.
As there are three open dates before the Meadowlands show on Swift’s itinerary, and one after it, it would seem possible for there to be an added date, if the initial show sells well.
The pop-oriented 1989 has already yielded a huge hit in its lead single, “Shake It Off.”
