The Weeklings and British Invasion star Peter Noone, best known as the frontman of Herman’s Hermits, have teamed up for a cover of the catchy, fast-paced 1966 Easybeats hit, “Friday on My Mind.” They have also made a video for is, which shows the Jersey-based musicians traveling into New York, where their images, and that of Noone, are on huge video screens in Times Square.
You can watch the video below.
Herman’s Hermits’ ’60s hits included “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” and “I’m Into Something Good.” Noone, 71, remains an active concert performer, and the jukebox musical “My Very Own British Invasion,” now premiering at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, is inspired, in large part, by his experiences in the ’60s.
“Friday on My Mind” is available on Amazon, Spotify and iTunes.
Upcoming Weeklings appearances include The Loft at City Winery in New York on March 10; The Fest for Beatles Fans at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City, March 31; iPlay America in Freehold, April 7; and the New Hope Winery in New Hope, Pa., May 17.
