The Weight Band, Willie Nile will perform at free Fall Festival in Clark

The Weight Band will headline the free Fall Festival in Clark, Oct. 7.

The Weight Band will play songs of The Band as well as original material, with support from singer-songwriter Willie Nile and the Grateful Dead tribute band Splintered Sunlight, at the free 2023 Fall Festival at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, Oct. 7 from 4 to 10 p.m.

The Weight Band, which is named after one of The Band’s most famous songs, features guitarist Jim Weider (who replaced Robbie Robertson in The Band from 1985 to 1999) as well as keyboardist Brian Mitchell (who has played in Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble Band), bassist Albert Rogers, drummer Michael Bram and keyboardist Matt Zeiner. All except for Rogers sing.

Since forming in 2013, The Weight Band has released two studio albums and two live albums. Their most recent studio album, last year’s Shines Like Gold, features nine originals plus a cover of Willie Dixon’s “It Don’t Make Sense (If You Can’t Make Peace).”

The concert is presented by the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
