A concert by Renée Fleming with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, a Stephen Sondheim tribute featuring Melissa Errico and a production of Puccini’s “Tosca” will all be part of the 2025 edition of The Princeton Symphony Orchestra’s annual Princeton Festival.
Music and dance events will take place from June 6 to June 21, mostly at a rain-proof performance pavilion at The Morven Museum & Garden, with a few events at Trinity Church.
Here is the lineup; all events are at Morven Museum & Garden unless noted.
June 6, 7 p.m.: “ICON: The Voices That Changed Music.” Singers Capathia Jenkins and Ryan Shaw with The Princeton Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lucas Waldin. Program includes hits by Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Elvis Presley, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and others.
June 7, 8 p.m.: Renée Fleming. With the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Rossen Milanov.
June 8, 4 p.m.: “Sondheim in the City.” Cabaret-style tribute to Stephen Sondheim with singer Melissa Errico, pianist and music director Tedd Firth, drummer Eric Halvorson and bassist David Finck.
June 12, 7 p.m. at Trinity Church: Solo recital by violinist Tessa Lark. Works by Ysaÿe, Telemann, Bach and others.
June 13 at 7 p.m., June 15 at 4 p.m. and June 17 at 7 p.m.: Puccini’s “Tosca.” Sung in Italian with English titles. Cast includes Toni Marie Palmertree as Tosca, Victor Starsky as Cavaradossi, Luis Ledesma as Scarpia and others. Score performed by Princeton Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rossen Milanov.
June 14, 7 p.m.: “An Evening of Pas de deux.” American Repertory Ballet with Princeton Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Rossen Milanov. Program includes excerpts from “Swan Lake” and “Don Quixote” as well as “Delibes Duet” by ARB artist-in-residence Ethan Stiefel.
June 18, 3 and 7 p.m. at Trinity Church: The Sebastians. Baroque ensemble. Program includes works by Corelli, Telemann, Vivaldi, Galuppi and Handel.
June 19, 7 p.m.: Masters of Soul. Motown revue.
June 20, 7 p.m.: “Viva Vivaldi!” Featuring Daniel Rowland, violin and conductor; Maja Bogdanović, cello; and Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Program includes works by Vivaldi, Osvaldo Golijov and Max Richter.
June 21, 7 p.m.: Arrival from Sweden. ABBA tribute.
