The Food Truck and Rock Carnival, which took place at Oak Ridge Park in Clark last year, will move to a new venue this year, under a new name.
Known simply as the Rock Carnival, it will be hosted by FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood — home to the Blue Claws minor league baseball team — on Sept. 30-Oct. 2, with a lineup headed by Twisted Sister, in what is billed as both a celebration of their 40th anniversary and their official Northeast farewell show.
Other performers will include Overkill, Ace Frehley, Monster Magnet, Fuel, Tom Keifer, Dokken, Texas Hippie Coalition, Doro, Four by Fate, Killcode, Jester and American Angel. As was the case last year, the first night of the show will be devoted to metal and hard-rock cover bands.
(JUNE 10 UPDATE: A number of acts have been added, including Alice Cooper, Clutch, Blue Öyster Cult, Zakk Sabbath (featuring Zakk Wylde playing Black Sabbath songs), Cycle of Pain, Zebra, Jackyl, Shaman’s Harvest and KYNG. AUG. 9 UPDATE: The Used and Halestorm have been added as well.)
There will also be a carnival area, amusement park-style rides, food trucks, professional wrestling, pig racing and more.
Three-day “early bird” passes go on sale May 13 at noon. Single-day tickets will go on sale June 7. For updates, visit therockcarnival.com.
