Todd Rundgren will perform at this year’s New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning, joining previously announced co-headliners Kansas and Collective Soul.
Rundgren plays July 30 at 8 p.m., with Collective Soul booked for July 29 at 8 p.m. and Kansas for July 31 at 3:30 p.m. Children’s entertainer Laurie Berkner also has been confirmed for July 29 at 1:30 p.m.
The festival, now in its 39th year, bills itself as the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America, with up to 100 hot air balloons ascending twice each day and other family-oriented activities.
Festival tickets and concert tickets for Collective Soul and Kansas are currently on sale. Concert tickets for Rundgren only go on sale March 4 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning March 2 at 10 a.m. Visit balloonfestival.com.
Todd Rundgren is currently joining Christopher Cross and others on the It Was 50 Years Ago Today Tour, which features songs from The Beatles’ Rubber Soul and Revolver albums as well as the artists’ own hits. It come to the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, March 1 at 8 p.m.; Sound Waves at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, March 5 at 8 p.m.; and the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. The tour will also feature Jason Scheff (formerly of Chicago), Badfinger (featuring Joey Molland) and Denny Laine (formerly of The Moody Blues and Wings).
