(June 5 Update: Kenny Vance & the Planotones have replaced Tommy James & the Shondells on the bill for this show).
The Garden State Arts Foundation will present a concert featuring three classic-rock icons — Tommy James & the Shondells, Darlene Love, and the Ventures — June 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, with disc jockey Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow hosting. Tickets are free, but must be requested in advance by mail. For information, visit gsafoundation.org.
The GSAF will also present a free series of shows for seniors; anyone 55 or older can attend for free. For these shows, which begin at 1:30 p.m., tickets can also be requested in advance; for information, visit gsafoundation.org. But even those without tickets can attend; they just won’t be guaranteed a seat.
Remaining shows in the senior series include:
May 22: The Doo-Wop Project
May 29: Little Anthony & the Imperials
June 5: Drinkin’, Singin’ and Swearin’ (Rat Pack tribute)
Sept. 4: Bobby Rydell, Ron Dante
The foundation, which was founded in 1984, also provides free programs for children at the PNC Bank Arts Center, and awards scholarships to performing arts students attending New Jersey colleges and universities through its Thomas H. Kean Scholarship Program.
