For fans of brainy but tuneful rock music, it’s a dream pairing: Steely Dan and Elvis Costello & the Imposters are teaming up for a summer tour that comes to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Aug. 1 and the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden on Aug. 3. Tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster.com for Holmdel on Feb. 20 and Camden on Feb. 21.
The amphitheater tour, an additional leg of Steely Dan’s Rockabye Gollie Angel Tour (which hits the West Coast in April), is currently scheduled to start July 6 in Denver and end Aug. 12 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Steely Dan (featuring New Jersey native Donald Fagen along with Walter Becker) has not released a new studio album since 2003’s Everything Must Go. The prolific Costello has released eight albums since then, including his 2013 collaboration with The Roots, Wise Up Ghost.
