The Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown will begin presenting indoor concerts and movies again, Sept. 19, and the first concert, Oct. 2, will be a benefit for MPAC featuring jazz performers Brynn Stanley, Grover Kemble and Jerry Vezza.
In accordance with state law, attendance for the shows will be capped at 150, even though the space can normally hold more than 1,300. Attendees must wear face masks and undergo temperature checks, and other safety precautions will be taken as well.
“This is an encouraging first step toward returning to normalcy, but there is still a long, difficult road ahead before performing arts centers like MPAC can return to regular operations,” said MPAC’s president and CEO, Allison Larena, in a press release. “We will continue to face many financial challenges from being closed over the past six months as well as being only capable of operating on a limited basis in the immediate future.”
Here is MPAC’s current fall lineup (indoor, outdoor and virtual), with details about each show. More events are expected to be added. For information and to buy tickets, visit MayoArts.org.
