With drive-in shows at Monmouth Park in Oceanport by Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, July 11, and Jim Gaffigan, July 12, sold out, the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, which is producing them, has added two more. The Queen tribute band Almost Queen will perform on July 29, followed by comedian Iliza Shlesinger on July 30.
Tickets to both go on sale July 2 at 10 a.m., and pre-sales have already begun. Click here for Almost Queen, here for Shlesinger.
Shlesinger became the first woman to win the TV competition “Last Comic Standing” in 2008; she was also the series’ youngest winner. Her most recent project, the Netflix special “The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show,” debuted in April.
Proceeds from both shows will benefit the Basie Center, which is currently closed because of the pandemic, and the New Jersey Arts and Culture Recovery Fund, a coalition of arts and philanthropy organizations dedicated to supporting the state’s arts scene during the pandemic.
