Union County Performing Arts Center will present free outdoor movies in August and September

The Union County Performing Arts Center will present a series of free, outdoor movies.

The Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway will present free movies, “Under the Stars” in its parking lot, Thursdays and Fridays from Aug. 6 to Sept. 11 at 8:45 p.m.

The City of Rahway is co-sponsoring the series, and masks are required except when eating or drinking. Those who wish to attend can reserve, in advance, a socially distanced area that can seat up to four adults or five people (if two are children younger than 12). Each area will come with a $10 coupon good at a Rahway restaurant. Walk-ups can attend as well, space permitting.

The schedule is:

Aug. 6: “The Princess Bride”
Aug. 7: “School of Rock”
Aug. 13: “Men in Black”
Aug. 14: “Captain Marvel”
Aug. 20: “Crazy Rich Asians”
Aug. 21: “The Goonies”
Aug. 27: “Remember the Titans”
Aug. 28: “Back to the Future”
Sept. 3: “The Greatest Showman”
Sept. 4: “Space Jam”
Sept. 10: “Black Panther”
Sept. 11: “Jungle Book”

Attendees can park in the nearby Hamilton Stage parking lot, since UCPAC’s main parking lot will be used for the movies.
