Singer-songwriters Dar Williams and David Broza, pioneering country-rocker Richie Furay (Poco, Buffalo Springfield) and jazz artist Catherine Russell will perform at “And the Beat Goes On …,” a virtual fundraiser for the South Orange Performing Arts Center that will take place Nov. 14 at 6 p.m.
The event will be hosted by actor Matt Servitto (who played FBI agent Dwight Harris on “The Sopranos”) and his wife Anne, and honor SOPAC supporters Leo and Barbara Sender. Dionne Warwick and actors Christiane Noll, Stephanie Kurtzuba and Robert DuSold will also make appearances.
A silent auction, with items such as New Jersey Devils tickets and a private tour of SiriusXM satellite radio studios, is currently being conducted here.
While not currently open to the general public, SOPAC has a variety of streaming offerings scheduled through the end of the year, including performances by Taj Mahal, Nov. 17; “A Night of Italian Opera Arias for Hope and Resilience,” Nov. 19; Patty Griffin, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5; and Blues People (featuring Kelton Cooper, Victor Burks, Mike Griot and Gene Lake), Dec. 3.
