WATCH Coldplay’s Chris Martin honor Chester Bennington with ‘Crawling’ cover at MetLife Stadium

Chris Martin of Coldplay sings Linkin Park’s “Crawling” at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Aug. 1.

In the first Coldplay concert since the July 20 suicide of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, frontman Chris Martin honored him by performing a solo version of the Linkin Park song, “Crawling,” Aug. 1 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford. You can watch the performance below.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda tweeted in response, “Thank you @coldplay. It sounded beautiful.”

In 2009, Bennington told Spin magazine that the song “is about feeling like I had no control over myself in terms of drugs and alcohol.”
