Drummer Alan White is best known as the longtime drummer for Yes, though he has many other credits, including John Lennon’s Imagine and Live Peace in Toronto 1969 albums and George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass. He’ll be among the guests at this year’s edition of the annual Fest for Beatles Fans, March 29-31 at Hyatt Regency in Jersey City.
This will be his first Fest for Beatles Fans appearance.
Other convention participants will include Wings members Denny Laine, Laurence Juber and Steve Holley; producer Jack Douglas (who co-produced John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Double Fantasy and engineered Imagine), Ringo Starr’s saxophone player and music director Mark Rivera; and the bands The Weeklings, Liverpool (performing a 50th anniversary salute to Abbey Road) and Blac Rabbit.
(March 27 Update: The Zombies will make an appearance at the festival on March 30, after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, March 29.)
The Fest for Beatles fan has been taking place in the metropolitan area since 1974, originally under a different name.
As usual, there will also be a Beatles marketplace, film screenings, panel discussions, art displays, book signings, karaoke, trivia contests, dance parties, yoga and meditation, and more.
